Tracking discontinuities in images and indirect data

This talk will discuss several approaches to treat discontinuities and interfaces in imaging and inverse problems. First of all we discuss the tracking of interfaces in image series with level set methods as appearing in cell tracking and segmentation.
A second aspect to be highlighted is the reconstruction of interfaces and motion from direct image data as well as indirect data. Finally, we provide an outlook to the use of diffuse interface methods in dynamic inverse problems and optimal control.
