Some progresses in parallel numerical linear algebra.

In this talk we will discuss ongoing research activities on the algorithmic and numerical design of parallel sparse linear solvers for large scale problems with a particular emphasis on the solution of linear systems.

We will cover topics including progresses on hybrid implementations of hybrid direct/iterative solvers as well as numerical schemes for the solution of linear systems with multiple right-hand sides.

Finally a few insights on emerging issues associated with the foreseen instabilities of the forthcoming extreme scale computers will be discussed that are related to numerical approaches to tackle the resiliency challenge.
