The human body. Capture, modeling and inference. From the Outside in.
Seminar Probabilités & Statistique
6/12/2018 - 14:00 Mr Sergi Pujades Rocamora Salle 106 - Batiment IMAG
The human body is an important focus of research as it directly impacts society. Observing and modeling the human body is crucial, among others, in the clothing, gaming, virtual reality, or health industries. In this talk I will present an overview of my work on the accurate understanding of the human body from visual data. I will present the capture, segmentation and tracking of the clothes on a character (external layer of the human), the estimation of the body shape of a character scanned with clothes on (surface layer of the human) and the learning of physical parameters of soft-tissue deformations (simplified internal layer). In addition, I will show how I currently address anatomical accuracy and clinical applications, on the examples of infant motion tracking and the creation of anatomically accurate statistical models.
